ANTONIO MARAZZI

Professor of Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Psychology, Department of Sociology, University of Padova. Expert for Japan at the Commission for International Activities. Member of the Scientific Committee of the journal Diogenes and of the Edotorial Board of Visual Anthropology. Permanent Member of the Advisory Committee of the Margaret Mead Film end Video Festival, New York.

From 1999, representative of the IUAES at the UNESCO's International Committee of Philosophy and Human Sciences (ICPHS). Past-Chairman (1992-2003) of Commission on Visual Anthropology at the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES).

Degree in Economics at the Bocconi University, Milan.
Scholarship at the Istituto Studi Politica Internazionale, Milan (1959-60).
Scholarship at the Salzburg Seminar in American Studies (1962).
Harkness Fellow at the Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1964-65).

Professor at the Universiy of Padova (1980- ). Assistant Professor in Sociology, then Cultural Anthropology, at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Pavia (1976-79). Lecturer in Cultural Anthropology at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Bologna (1973-79).

National coordinator of EU research project Socrates on adult women immigrants in Europe (1999-2001).
Visiting Professor at the Department of Anthropology, New York University, N.Y. (1992-93).
Japan Foundation Research Fellow at the National Museum of Ethnology, Senri, Osaka (1986-87).
Fieldwork among Tibetan refugees in Switzerland (1970-72), Northern and Southern India
Research on Multiculturalism in Europe: Immigrant families in Europe, Second generation immigrants in Italy.
